Fetus homicide may be tough to prove in Cleveland kidnapping case, expert says
Thu May 9, 2013
I seriously doubt the prosecutor will have any difficulty at all in this case. I'm fairly certain pretty well any jury would be willing to convict him of pretty well any charge. Right or not, that's how I see this going down.
Kitchen calamity: Reports of shattering cookware on the rise
Fri Dec 21, 2012
This happened to me while steaming vegetables. The pan itself was stainless steel, but the lid was pyrex. I've steamed veggies in this pan at least a hundred times (probably way more), but this particular time the lid just shattered. I hear a loud, deep pop, looked over at the stove, and there were …
'Trigger law' put to the test in Compton, Calif.
Mon Sep 26, 2011
It's not just teachers who are underpaid; many professionals areworking more and making less. With such high unemployment rates, HRmanagers choose only the creme of the crop and can pay them much lessthan they would have made at their previous place of employment. These people cannot afford to be wit …
'Vampire' arrest sparks discussion on pop culture
Thu Aug 18, 2011
I played V:tM in high school. One of our members decided she was a real vampire - right down to trying to drink peoples' blood. We kicked her out of the group.
Finding alternatives to middle school's dramas, traumas
Wed Aug 17, 2011
So at what point *should* a parent step in? When the child comes home crying or moody every day? When the child's friends disapear (with maybe one or two exceptions)? When the child stops communicating and just writes in a journal all day? When the child starts hanging out in their bedroom all day …
Parents of tipsy toddler sue Applebee's over drink mixup
Wed Apr 13, 2011
I'm usually against frivolous lawsuits; however, in this case, it seems that Applebee's has a systemic problem with this this: it's happened several times before and not just at this restaurant. So, if it's happened before, why is Applebee's only *now* changing their policies to help ensure it does …
Sheriff now oversees more bison than people
Mon Mar 7, 2011
The citizens of this county should not have to foot the bill for this careless ranch owner. He should be billed for everything from the feed for his bison to the hours the sherif spends making sure his *five* ranch hands are doing what they're supposed to be doing to begin with. And let's not forg …
Alabama law firm to Taco Bell: That's not beef
Mon Jan 24, 2011
Yeah, I knew it wasn't 100% real beef, but if something contains a common allergen, then the company should have to make the consumer aware. Soy is a very common allergen.
Wife of deposed Tunisian leader despised by many
Mon Jan 17, 2011
A highly educated population pushed over the edge to the point of a revolution because they are frustrated at their inability to earn a living, and all this because of governmental corruption? Sounds strangely similar to another country I know - one much closer to home.
Been dumped at the holidays? (Or been the dumper?) Tell us your story.
Thu Dec 16, 2010
I had a similar experience. Better to be dumped before than after. . . at least that way you're not loosing money.
